Talking Got my 5th Gyup!!

Cool, after two months of Kumdo i have achieved 5th Gyup. (hope i spelled that right) I know it's only the beginning but i'm quiet proud of myself, and it tells me that this road i'm on will probably never end. Anyway, of coarse any imput from this community is greatly appreciated on what i should focus on in the coming months far as training and reading material. I really want that Cho Dan pretty bad, but i know i should be patient and everything should fall into place. "right" Well i haven't posted a thread in a while so i thought this was a good time.
Take care everybody!!

Congratulations!! IMO you should do what you're told by your Sabunim/Master and concentrate a ton on footwork and BIG mori. Good luck and keep at it!

Congratulations!

Wow, 5th geup in two months? You must be a quick study. It took me a year and half to get to that level....of course, I started with 9th geup and worked my way up. It's not unusual for folks at my dojang to spend 3 to 5 years to get their chodan....that's with five to three days a week practice. When I began training at my current dojang, I started from 4 geup (still am) eventhough I was 3rd geup at my previous dojang. No big deal....kumdo is a life journey, and I have all the time in the world to get to where I want to be (probably 5th dan at most).

I guess it's different with everyone. The hardest part of training for me is learning Korean while trying to learn everything else. But i do go five days a week and sometimes Saturday. My instructor said i'll be ready for competition next year, can't wait. thanks for the support everyone, and i'll keep ya posted.

5 geup in two months sounds about right. And this thread is two years dead, Samuel. Kowboy should be chodan by now.
