Seme in Korean

My Japanese-Korean dictionary just translates this as "Konggyok" or "attack" in English, but even though I have a dabbler's grasp at best of the concept, it seems to me that when one talks of seme, we're talking about a lot more than just the attack itself. I want to talk to my sabumnim about seme, but I just don't know the right words, and she doesn't use Japanese terms ever. Any idea what the commonly used phrase is for the concept?

Seme is a hard one to translate in Korean. A lot of my Korean friends (I'm talking the 6 dan and up guys) just use the word seme although a lot of the 5 dan and below guys have NO idea what it is as they often rely on sheer speed. You might want to talk about gisae (the shape of your ki).

HTH...

What about Kiwi (기위 -> 氣位) ? Or is that kigurai?

I have heard gisae used a lot though, recently, Cesare, thanks. Specifically in 6bon, when Sondo/Shidachi moves down on hudo/uchidachi's sword before retreating to chasangdan/hidari jodan.
