      Training indoors

Hey, I was wondering if anybody had any good ideas for training indoors in their apartment. The main problem I have is the low ceilings.

You can practice on your knees. :)

In my living room, I set up a coat rack with a TKD pad sitting on top to practice my muhris. It's kinda high, but it works.

I've done the practicing on my knees, but it's hard on my knees and doesn't help with improving my timing with my footwork.

I'm not familiar with the word muhris, but I assume that means you're practicing some men hit? How are you avoiding hitting the ceiling with your shinai?

I was considering buying some weights for my shinai and then cutting it shorter so I can do a full swing indoors. Although I'm concerned that the balance of the shinai will be totally changed.

I have to sit on chairs... :(

It's kind of possible to use the mokkum since it's a bit shorter.

if the cieling is to low u cant practice indoors, if u do it on your knees that wont help your footwork and thats somthing u allways need to practice so my advice is grab a scarf and some tight warm gloves and go outside.

you're right. muhri = men. i guess it all depends on what you want to practice.

If you have a garage, I'd suggest that.

Yea, but some of us are cramped in a little apartment.... :(

My sister has a nice apartment where the ceilings are 10 feet high, so she has it good!

      lucky!!
Anyway, if you have a college dorm, you could take your armor there and practice in the gyms or raquetball courts.
Hmm, I'm trying to think of alternatives at where you live...
You could always just do it outside and scare the **** out of people.
